Sandy has struggled with weight issues all her life, and was the target for bullying at school, which only added to the weight gain, this was a never ending circle and depression and low self esteem took its toll from early childhood,
years and through to adulthood.
After being told by her doctor that she would have to loose weight or spend the rest of her life in a wheelchair, or worse, she decided that enough is enough, and which the help from her doctor, she was accepted to have weight loss surgery.
In 2017 she underwent Bariatric Bypass Surgery at the Austin Hospital.
Throughout the months to come she enrolled in Goodlife Gym and enlisted the help of a Personal Trainer, who customised her training needs to suit her goals, which at that stage was to loss weight. Fast forward to today and Sandy has lost an incredible 85kgs, and has just turned 60, but still continues to train 5 days a week, two of those with a Personal Trainer, and is now studying to become a Personal Trainer. Sandy states
"A strong mind and body, is very achievable, believe in yourself as your body is very capable of doing what you want it to do, for 60 is but a number, tell me I can't, and I'll show you how you CAN".
